Packing (Sealing)
The standard packing on Badger valves is a PTFE CV-ring packing with a PFA follower.
This is low friction and has a long service life making it the best packing for most applications.
Where PTFE is not acceptable, in tobacco processing, for example, Grafoil can be used which is also suitable for high temperature applications.
Other options are available in PTFE/Kalrez for low fugitive emission applications (0 ppm @ 150 psi) and combination packings can be used for vacuum, high pressure and where leak detection is required.
